Prishtina, March 25, 2026 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo’s Life Sciences & Healthcare Committee held a meeting with the Head of the Tariff Section at Kosovo Customs, Fatmir Maloku, to discuss key issues related to the Tariff and Customs Code and their impact on the healthcare sector.

The meeting served as a platform for member companies to address challenges related to the import, classification, and regulatory treatment of pharmaceutical products and medical devices, as well as the efficiency and consistency of customs procedures.

Participants raised several concerns, including the availability of adequate bonded warehouse capacity for pharmaceutical products, the need to update relevant product list, and discrepancies in classification practices. Regulatory aspects related to medical devices, as well as the treatment of specific healthcare-related products, were also discussed.

The discussion further covered broader issues such as tariff application on pharmaceutical products originating from the United States, alignment with EU classification standards, and documentation requirements, with the aim of improving clarity and predictability for businesses operating in the sector.
