Prishtina, May 21, 2026 – The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo convened the meeting of its ESG Committee, chaired by Valentina Gara of Limak Kosovo – Prishtina International Airport “Adem Jashari”, bringing together member companies committed to advancing sustainable and responsible business practices.

Opening the discussion, Valentina Gara emphasized the growing importance of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in shaping business strategies and supporting long-term sustainable growth. She noted that ESG is increasingly becoming an essential component of responsible business conduct, contributing to stronger institutional trust, improved environmental performance, and greater social impact.

Committee members exchanged views on sustainability priorities across sectors, focusing on responsible leadership, ethical governance, and the private sector’s role in generating long-term environmental and social value. The importance of aligning business practices with international standards and evolving sustainability expectations was also reinforced.

Participants reflected on ongoing initiatives within their respective organizations, covering areas such as community engagement, environmental protection, health and wellbeing, diversity and inclusion, and broader efforts toward more sustainable business models. These discussions highlighted the increasing use of practical tools and partnerships supporting climate action, including carbon reduction measures, renewable energy investments, and ecosystem protection initiatives.

The Committee also outlined its priorities going forward, emphasizing the importance of translating ESG commitments into practical outcomes, strengthening collaboration among member companies, and improving coordination through more structured information sharing on ongoing and planned activities.
