The AmCham Foundation, established in 2012, reflects the commitment of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo and its members to giving back to society and supporting the well-being of communities across the country. Through the Foundation, AmCham members have joined efforts to address pressing social needs, support vulnerable groups, and promote opportunities for education, health, and personal development.
Over the years, the Foundation has supported numerous initiatives made possible through the generosity of AmCham member companies and partners. These efforts have included helping build homes for families without shelter, establishing school libraries in rural areas to improve access to education, and supporting medical treatment for children battling cancer. The Foundation has also provided support to children with Down syndrome and those with exceptional intellectual potential, while assisting orphaned and vulnerable children through partnerships with organizations such as SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo.
AmCham Foundation has worked closely with a range of civil society organizations and initiatives, including Action for Mothers and Children, the Jahjaga Foundation’s Moment Museum, and the Kosovo Down Syndrome Organization, contributing to programs that promote health, social inclusion, and awareness. In addition, the Foundation has supported initiatives that foster youth development and learning, such as the Chess School for Children, while also contributing to the establishment and operation of “Linja e Jetës”, a hotline dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health support.
Through these and many other initiatives, the AmCham Foundation has sought to cultivate a culture of compassion, solidarity, and social responsibility within the business community. By mobilizing the support of its members and partners, the Foundation continues to contribute to meaningful and lasting social impact in Kosovo, reinforcing the belief that sustainable economic progress must go hand in hand with a strong commitment to community development and human well-being.
