Prishtina, February 17, 2026 – On the occasion of Kosovo’s eighteenth anniversary of independence, American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo honors the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the people of Kosovo whose collective efforts made independence possible.
This milestone offers an opportunity not only for reflection, but also for renewed commitment. Over the past eighteen years, Kosovo has made meaningful strides in strengthening its democratic institutions, expanding its economic potential, and deepening its partnerships with international allies. The foundations of statehood—political freedom, sovereignty, and democratic governance—have created the space for economic transformation and global engagement.
As Kosovo enters its next chapter, AmCham reaffirms its dedication to supporting a vision defined by economic resilience, democratic maturity, innovation, and deeper integration into transatlantic markets. While political freedom laid the foundation of the Republic, sustainable economic development remains the promise that must be fulfilled through sound policies, institutional accountability, and a vibrant private sector.
AmCham continues to advocate for reforms that strengthen the rule of law, improve the business climate, attract foreign direct investment, and align Kosovo’s regulatory and economic frameworks with Euro-Atlantic standards. A competitive and transparent market economy is essential not only for growth and job creation, but also for reinforcing Kosovo’s long-term stability and international credibility.
